Killalea State Park, on the NSW coast at Shellharbour, is Crown
Land dedicated to public recreation. It is managed by Killalea State
Park Trust.

It features stunning views in all directions, and a range of public
recreation facilities consistent with environmental conservation.
Natural features include sandy, rocky shores, coastal dunes & heath,
river frontage, tidal mangroves, fresh-water lagoon, subtropical &
littoral rainforest remnants and an offshore island.
Popular recreational activities include:
- SURFING (with two great surf beaches: “the Farm” & “Mystics”);
- FISHING (from rock, beach & river);
- PICNICS (at several sites throughout the Park);
- CAMPING (with toilets, showers & camp kitchen).
The park also features bush & coastal walking trails, and is within
hiking distance of Bass Point Reserve and the picturesque Shellharbour
village.
Also on site is the Illawarra Environmental Education Centre (NSW Department
of Education & Training).
- Park entry is free.
- The Park is open 4.30 am to 9.00 pm DAILY (after hours access for
authorised campers only).
- Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm.
- Water is bore-water: not suitable for drinking.
- Beaches are NOT patrolled.
- Vehicles & drivers are subject to NSW Traffic Regulations & penalties.
- Vehicles must drive only on formed roads & carparks.
- Speed limit in the Park is 40 kph (15 kph in Camping Area)
- Dogs are NOT permitted in the Park
- Fires are only permitted in BBQs and permanently constructed
fireplaces.
- Vehicles must NOT remain in the park after 9.00pm (authorised campers
excepted).
(Automated boom-gates prevent entry/exit between 9.00pm & 4.30am without
PIN-code access. PIN codes are available to authorised campers at time
of booking.)
